Yoga Pose Sequence for Emotional Balance

Monday, October 27th, 2008

Here’s a sequence of yoga poses for emotional balance by an Iyengar teacher.

Though I don’t wholeheartedly endorse Iyengar yoga for people with bipolar disorder (such emphasis on a right way to be in a posture can be counterproductive for the perfectionists and overly self-critical among us, not to mention it makes you dependent on props), this posture sequence is good.

More soon on breathing and a different sequence of yoga poses.

Private Instruction in Yoga for People with Bipolar Disorder

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

If you have speakers and a microphone on your computer or a telephone with a speaker, I can lead you through a series of yoga breathing techniques, poses, relaxation and meditation techniques. These techniques will help you ground the body, focus the mind, and support you in accessing a deep experience of yourself, touching into a place of strength and wholeness underneath the surface waves of body and mind.

You must have your doctor’s permission to engage in exercise to participate in this yoga consultation.

The suggested donation is $50 per hour, many currencies accepted. Instruction is available in English, Spanish, and French.
